SHOPPING LIST BOX

Materials Used:

2 tone Bazzil Cardstock

Patterned Paper

Scorpal

Velcro

Hot glue

Post it Notes

Pencil

The Pixie Cottage Stamp: "At The Corner of.." by ArTish

STEP ONE

Cut Cardstock in this size:

30cm x 14cm

(11.8 inches x 11.8 inches)

STEP TWO

Fold the Cardstock at:
14 cm and 16cm
( 5.5 inches and 6.3 inches)

Cut another cardstock in this size:

14 cm x 5cm
(5.5 inches and 2 inches)

Fold this cardstock at:

1 cm and 3 cm
(.4 inches and 1.2 inches)

(this piece of cardstock is required for the closure)

STEP THREE

Cut the other tone of cardstock in:

4 pieces of 13.6 cm x 13.6 cm cardstock
(5.4 inches x 5.4 inches)

6 pieces of 13.6 cm x 1.6 cm cardstock
(5.4 inches x .6 inches)

Cut the Patterned Paper in:

4 pieces of 13.2 x 13.2 cm
(5.2 inches x 5.2 inches)

6 pieces of 13.2 x 1.2 cm
(5.2 inches x .5 inches)

(these pieces are needed to decorate the base of the shoping list)

STEP FOUR

Decorated the box on the exterior and inside, but for the inside wait to glue the right side because at the end you have to glue the closing.

After you glue the closure you will glue the last decoration/ patterned paper.

STEP FIVE

Create the place for the pencil

Cut cardstock in this size :

5.5 cm x 2 cm

(2.2 inches x .8 inches)

5.1 cm x 1.6 cm

(2 inches x .6 inches)

4.7 cm x 1.2 cm

(1.2 inches x .5 inches)

Now glue this strip as shown in the picture, leaving space for the pencil

STEP SIX

Apply the "Velcro" with the hot glue to make the closure of the box.

STEP SEVEN

Decorated the exterior of the shopping list box.

Stamped Candle Tutorial

Stamping on candles may be a bit of a misnomer. This tutorial will give a you simple step step instruction on how to~~~

You begin with an image and candle of your choice. The pillars are the easiest because they are larger but I have used all sizes. I will use pillars today so you will be able to see. I have used some of the great Pixie Cottage Stamps for my tutorial today. You can find one to fit whatever need you have here at
Michelle's Scrapbooking & More.

Start by stamping your image on regular tissue paper. You will find that the tissue paper has a flat side and a shiny side. The image seems to stamp a little darker on the shiny side.

The next step will be to cut out the images leaving a little border around the image.

You do not need to be exact when cutting.

Next you will want to color with the medium of your choice. I do not have copics so I had to used my water color pencils. After coloring you will attach the image to the candles with a few dabs glue to keep them in place. On this one I spaced three images around the candle.

Using wax paper you will cut a piece large enough to wrap around the candle and have enough to hold onto. You will pull it tight making sure it is smooth with no wrinkles.

Using a heat gun you will carefully pass back and forth across the candle where the image is attached, not staying in one place to long, or you will actually melt the candle. As you are passing the heat gun back and forth, the wax will melt and the image will settle down into the candle, the edges of the paper will disappear and the image will appear to be stamped directly onto candle. After letting it cool for a moment you will carefully peel off the wax paper. If you have any rough spots or runs you simply wrap it up in a new piece of wax paper and heat again.

You can add any type of embellishments such a string, jewels, glitter etc.

I kept these pretty simple with some ribbon wrapped around and

a few pearls on the wedding one.

I hope you will try this fun project as you can apply this technique

to any candle. You can make masculine, earthy, fun, and even create scenes.

Step One

Use the Bazzil Cardstock for create the base for the cover.

You need a piece of Bazzil Cardstock in this size:

29.8 cm x 14.4 cm
(11.7 inches x 5.7 inches)

Step two

Mark the lines according to the measurements in the picture below.

Step Three

This is the inside for the base ofthe cover.

Step Four

Now apply the glue on the two laterals wings and close the cover.

Step Five

This is the base for the cover finished.

Step six

You just need to decorate the outside as you like.

Valentine Pocket With Treat

Materials Used

Medium Size Kraft Envelope 5-3/4" x 4-3/8"

Ruler
Pencil
Rubber Stamp- The Pixie Cottage's April with Hearts

Additional Supplies Used
Prisma Premier Pencils
Tim Holtz Distress Ink
Ink Template
Eylets
Bakers Twine

Step One

Take your envelope and fold the two ends towards the center. Gently crease the edges. You can chose to measure your envelope for exact measurements, but I found it quicker to eyeball it.

Step Two

Take your bone folder or scoring tool and rub it over the folds. This gives the envelope a permanent crease.

Step Three

Open the envelope up and fold up the top flap of the envelope.

Step Four

Keeping the top flap open, fold the envelope back in so that the edges meet again.

Then bend the flap down, and go over it again with your bone folder/scoring tool.

Step Five

Take out your stamp and ink up the front of the envelope.

Step Six

Decorate your envelope as you wish. I chose to make mine a Valentine Pocket, adding a sweet treat as well. I packed it all in, used 3 eyelets in an interesting fashion, and sealed the back with some bakers twine.

The possibilities are endless, how you choose to decorate your pocket is totally up to you. I certainly hope that if you use this idea, you will come back and leave a link showing us your creative creation.

Frame Of Hearts

Supplies Needed

Cardstock

Hearts punch

Compass

Stamped Image: "Maisy and Matts Wedding by Carubia"

Distress ink refill

Glue

Step One

Cut a circle in the size you want and stamp the image.

Step Two

Punch the hearts, (I used the Martha Stewart Punch)

Now you have the image and the hearts.

Step Three

Take the hearts and glue them all around the circle.

Step Four

This is the frame finished.

Step Five

Now you can make your card.

Adding Texture To a Copic Colored Image

Materials Required

Fuzzy Sock or textured cloth

Copic Markers

Memento Ink

Stamped Image: "Not Even a Mouse" by Alisa Ramirez

Copic Blender Solution

Step One

Color in your stamped image. I only want to add texture to the bear, so I am not going to color in anything else. Please Note: Your image does not have to look smooth as you will be adding texture and this blends the colors together.

Step Two

Wrap the sock/cloth around your index finger and apply the Copic Blender Solution. As seen in the image below.

Step Three

Start dabbing the colored image with the sock/cloth that has been moistened with Copic Blender Solution. I tend to hold the sock/cloth on my image for about 2 seconds, then I lift it up to see how it looks.

I repeat the above step several times over the different areas of the image. I suggest coloring large circles on a scrap piece of paper with your Copics, and play around with different cloths, socks etc.

The longer you hold the wet material on the colored image, the more color it removes.

Step Four

Let your image dry. Then proceed to color in the rest of the image with your Copic Colors of choice.

In Step Two I am using the Copic Blender Ink Refill bottle, but I have to say I have a large bottle in my possession. This technique can be quite addicting, and purchasing the larger bottle is really cost effective. Be sure to contact Michelle at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More should you be interested in purchasing a larger bottle.

The Pixie Cottage's Saturday Tutorial

CHRISTMAS PLACE CARD HOLDER

Supplies needed

Bazzil cardstock, patterned paper,

compass, paper trimmer, glue.

STEP ONE

Draw a circle of 10 cm ( 3.9 inches) in diameter and cut it

STEP TWO

Cut out a corner like in the picture below.

STEP THREE

Create a cone.

STEP FOUR

Cut many strips of paper 1 cm (0.4 inches) wide and 5 cm ( 2 inches) long.

STEP FIVE

Put glue on the tip of the paper strip as shown below.

STEP SIX

Fold the strip of paper in half.

STEP SEVEN

Attach the folded strips to the cone with glue. As seen below.

When all the strips are attached to the cone it should look like the below image.

STEP EIGHT

Choose your stamp and paint it. I chose to use the new gorgeous stamp "Not Even a Mouse" by Alisa Ramirez.

STEP NINE

Cut out and place the painted image on the top of the tree for Christmas, and below the image put the name of the person who will sit in that place.

This is my finished Place Card Holder.

The Pixie Cottage's Saturday Tutorial

Gift Card Envelope Tutorial

Supplies Needed

11cm x 22.5cm piece of cardstock

Scissors, Glue, circle punch, brads scoring tool, and a piece of string

Diagram

Step One

Take out your ruler and pencil and draw the lines on the inside of your cardstock. Then Score those lines. The measurements are seen in the diagram above.

Step Two

Take your scissors and start to cut out the pannels you don't need. As indicated in the diagram above.

Step Three

Use your hole punch to cut out the two tiny circles as indicated in the diagram and as shown below. Punch out your circles and then punch out a hole in the center of them as well.

On what will be the outside of your gift card holder, place the circle on top of the recently punched hole and insert your piece of string so that there is a little hanging out the back. Insert the eyelet and set it. Repeat this step with the second hole, but you will not need a piece of string for that one.

Step Four

Add your glue to each of the side flaps as seen below. Fold the flaps in and then fold the cardstock up so that the flaps adhere to the other side.

The back of your gift card holder should look like this. You close it by wrapping the string underneath the circles.

Turn the gift card holder over and decorate the front as you see fit. I just had to use this New adorable "Snow Fairy" Pixie Cottage Stamp from Michelle's Scrapbooking and More. She is just precious!

I have always had a hard time giving a gift card but I find that if I make a gift card holder such as the one above, the recipient knows I went to the effort of putting some TLC into it.

The Pixie Cottage's Saturday Tutorial

Hi ladies,

Welcome to our first November Pixie Cottage Saturday Tutorial. Francy and I will be working on creating fun and interesting tutorials for you, twice a month. Please help me welcome Francy, our new Tutorial Pixie. I am sure you will just ADORE her first project for you.

Pretty Bag Tutorial

Hello everyone, this tutorial is about this little bag.

The materials I used to make this bag are:
-The Pixie Cottage Stamp: " Cupcakes Set"
-Bazzil Cardstock
-Patterned paper
-Sizzix Buckles
-embellishments

Use a Bazzil Cardstock size: 26cm x 24 cm and mark the lines as shown below.

Now cut as shown in the picture and fold along the dotted lines. The black lines are bent outward, the red lines are bent inward.

Cut another piece of Bazzil cardstock, this will be used for the bag closure.

Follow the picture below for size information and cut where indicated.

These are the two pieces of Bazzil cardstock that you will need for the bag.

After putting the patterned paper on the exterior of the bag put the double stick tape were on the sides to be assembled.

This is what the base of the bag looks like assembled.

Before attaching the top, which is the closure of the bag, I decorate it with this wonderful

Insert the handle as indicated below. The size of the handle is: 10cm x 2 cm.

Fold the strip in the middle of the 2 cm to create the handle.

Finally use the "velcro" to create the closure.

Welcome our new Design Team!!

I think I am only one day behind schedule for a change!!
I promised to announce the new design team on the 15th!

First, we will be saying goodbye to some very talented ladies at the end of this month, and I do want them to know how much they will be missed, and how much their work is appreciated.

Amber, Sadia, Karen and Anne are leaving. I have enjoyed having each one of them on this team and seeing their beautiful work. I do want to say a special goodbye to Anne. Anne has been with me from the start of this challenge, and I am very sad to see her leave, but certainly understand. Two years of emails and getting to know each other, I certainly have found a new friend in Norway!

Thank you to everyone who applied. I enjoyed looking at everyone's blog. And struggled to make the decision on who to add.
